Grouperbean

The grouperbean split from its ancestor. It has taken up the niche of a small grouper. It has doubled its size, and has changed its color to blend in with the mud. Its eyes have gotten better so it can see through the mud. Its mouth has widened and has developed bristles on the sides of it to filter feed better. Its behavior is also different. It now gobbles up the eggs of other macroscopic creatures as well as snapping up river swarmers. It still filter feeds and photosynthesis though. When the mother lays its own eggs, it then gobbles them up, which then stick to its britsles. While the eggs are incubating, it shuts its mouth and doesn’t eat until the eggs hatch, keeping them warm and safe. While it waits for the eggs to hatch, it captures sunlight to keep it alive. When the eggs hatch, the young are kept inside the mouth, feeding on any microscopic organisms its mother filters in. After a week, the young can venture out of the mouth and feed within sight of the mother. When the mother senses danger, it gobbles its young back into its mouth, keeping them protected from predators, until the coast is clear. After two or three months, the young are old enough to leave the protection of its mother. It lives for five to ten years.

Elerd is now a Moderator!!

He can now fix the spelling and or grammar for “species submissions” so they can better be understood. He just has to make sure he mentions that he edited it and what he fixed. No need to go into great detail but just say something like “I fixed the spelling of the biomes and the grammar of the description”.Also he will be my fill in approver when I am gone / away. Its been way over due for me to have a back up person in case I was not around. I will train him this week on approving species but he will normally only be doing them when I can’t.

Please welcome him as moderator everyone and best of luck to you Elerd! Your helpful nature has earned you this most needed role on the team.

New writers

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Since I haven’t been able to do updates on a timely basis, we have two more writers to help. One is Hydro, he is the creator of the Sagan4 project. As you can see he’s already written two articles. The other is Yannick, a Sagan4 team member who has contributed quite a bit to the project. With their help, we should be able to keep this page updated on a regular basis.

Welcome guys!

DISASTER

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

An ice comet crashes into the Jujubee Ocean and widens the Otter Vents. This causes worldwide earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and sea level rise. All sea caves collapse and new sea caves form at the new sea level from old caves. All macro life in the volcanic caves have become extinct due to their super eruptions. The continuous earthquakes cause avalanches and thus rivers to flood and even expand in the case BioCat River. The smoke from the volcanic eruptions block out the sun for a long time and thus all species one meter or larger on land, down in the sea, underground and above in the air become extinct. Not only is the geography of Sagan 4 changed forever but the small species that survive will change the face of Sagan 4 forever.
