Falsequill Sauceback by Somarinoa

falsequill

In a small number of spiney sauceback, the temperatures of the Huggs-Yokto Savannah was too much for them, even with their heat sinks, and while most would just find shade when they could and do with that, a minuscule amount of them began to dig into the dirt, which unearthed cooler terrain, that they then laid down upon for small amounts of time to help cool off. Over the ages, this eventually led to a new species of sauceback, one that actually preferred to completely bury itself in dirt, and would remain there until they could surprise their prey.

Created by Ichthyostega Awesome color choices and interesting creature.
kraken
The rainbow kraken has replaced the strainbean eater. It has grown to an enormous size. It’s actual body is 22 meters long, but the two tentacles next to the mouth grew up to an enormous length. Mini-hearts develop in the tentacles to get blood flowing in them. The rainbow kraken can blend in with the water like its ancestor to catch unsuspecting strainbeans and giant shovelheads. The two long tentacles float around and act as touch receptors. They often float horizontally from the body due to pressure. When it has touched a prey item, the catching tentacle quickly wraps around the unfortunate strainbean or shovelheads and bring them back to the mouth. The rainbow krakens long tentacles have a thick layer of blubber to act as rubber in order to be protected from an electrical shock.

This was a nice change from it’s creator, Badger Man 22. The picture was done by Neoskel.
urchip
The seep urchip split from its ancestor. It has moved deeper and out to sea as while on Misc. animals some of them fell of and landed here in the cold seep. They all changed their diet to the Blarg pyamus as it is a new edible thing for them. Their beak-thingy has curved down and stabs into the Blarg pyamus and slowly sucks out the goo. They have not grown at all and are easily picked of by animals larger than them. It’s shell has become one single piece to make it harder for anything to even try to eat it.

Gamma Ray

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

As life was growing and evolving on Sagan 4, a major disaster occurred. Suddenly and without warning, the planet was caught in a gamma ray burst. Though the burst lasted moments, the damage to the planet was enormous. Most of the life on Sagan 4 became extinct. Surviving species in the water, cave and underground biomes were all that was left. Life on Sagan 4 though, would begin again.

Today’s feature is the Nightstrainer by Somarinoa. He puts so much thought into his descriptions and creatures plus the art on this one is really nice.

Those Combstrainers who lived along the northern borders of the Huggs-Yokto Savannah eventually began to split off from the majority of their species, as they no longer had the definite protection of their old symbiotic relationships with the Sailbacked Bearhog Plents, which had since died out. These had been trying times for their species, and in the struggles, several found and moved into the nearby Rabid Sandstone Caves, and many would eventually follow suit and move in as well. Although initially they were just a subgroup of Combstrainers, they were forced to adapt differently, thereby becoming a new species, an offshoot to the original strain.
