I think the adaptations page has great potential in educating the members of the team on how creatures should be made properly. i would like to suggest that a chart/diagram be put up to discuss why different bugs have antenna shapes. you can find many pictures showing the different shapes, but you cant find any saying what advantages each one has, so it would help very much.

I thought that an eye adaption list will be useful for designing predators or cave creatures.
I found only this example.

Thought this could be useful, especially for Mason.

Because not having eyes brings it closer to the 0% line.
Two or three specialized versions of its heat sensitive oral appendages, grown much larger and having the ability to be splayed outward, should be enough, along with its chemoreceptors, to rival that of a sighted organism. It would be more logical to dev elop along existing lines than to develop photoreceptors, so sight won't evolve on mason, making it near-impossible to develop earth-like organisms.

Eyes are likely something that has evolved across the universe, as on Earth itself it has evolved several times in different organisms.

Organs that serve the function of eyes can come in many forms, not just the type evolved on Earth.

But would they always be the easiest, more effective, or more efficient way? I'm just saying things evolve convergently because circumstances demand an adaptation to develop a certain way.

Eyes are just a way to detect a spectrum of waves. That's pretty much the definition of an eye. Whether you're seeing infrared, gamma, visible or uv-waves, its still an eye. A patch with cells that detect these waves, eventually becoming more complex. We just have to make sure we're not going with the 'perfectly round with iris and pupil' eyes. And preferably not two of them, but another number.
