Here, we can talk about each others creatures, give general feedback and basically keep in touch with one another. I posted it here so that it was easily accessible to the team members. Everyone's been doing really good, keep it up guys.

Is the cladogram going to be upgraded on Sporewiki? It's interesting to see how many things evolved from just one organism.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that myself. Do we need someone to update it? I can do it if there's not enough time.

I can do it i just have been putting it off. The JPEG is 3 MB. Takes so long to open the file its has over 600 layers and the adobe photo shop file is 11 MB. In short its pretty huge with everything on its own separate layer in case i need to move them over for more lines. I just hope that 10 per gen doesn't make it too crowded. Cause I can't really made it wider without having problems. Taller is fine, but wider... arg!

@ clayren

I am not tying to pick on ya for your species. Just those had some major problems. Many of your other ones have been just fine. So do not be discouraged. This goes for everyone who has something wrong with their creature.

Perhaps we should have more biology discussions on what adaptations occur in nature universally. Such as a sleek "fish" shape for water animals like sharks, whales and prehistoric marine reptiles.

Eh, no sweat. I should hope that I could survive some occasional criticism.

I agree, I usually try to make a mixture of known natural occurance with just that dash of alieness and ancestor. For example the link between surface area:volume ratio and temperature of the habitat.

Edit: I know it could be confusing, but you could start a separate image from week 9. We might not be able to see what evolved from what initially, but over time it might not matter and the is already a whole generation gap.

Or, we could make it that way, but less confusing, by including the very top layer from the first cladogram in the second.

Sorry to double post, but I was wondering; Who has the authority to approve a creature? Just Hydromancerx, or a certain group of people, or anyone? Also, I got a new avatar! It's a helmet I made for my creature the sylauxe, just zoomed out to fit.

To prevent double posting, there is a modify button on the upper right hand of each of your posts.

I also have to power to approve creatures, I just don't often have as much time.

Edit: In fact, me and Hydro have to approve each other's, since we can't approve our own.

yeah we have been here a long time. Technically Krawkow Sam if he was around could approve too. People like Flisch or Rhodix would probably be next in line to gain the ability to approve creatures since they have been around a long time and know what's acceptable. Of course we can always un-approve like ovi did that time when i missed the part about the signaling sauceback. So really its approved by both if it has stayed in the gen thread for awhile.

I updated some more but it is getting very crowded. Perhaps it should be redone in a new way. Perhaps early life and then separated into the different life kingdoms

I see what you mean. It's become nearly impossible to see what evolved from what with all these lines. There must be an easier way.

There is an easier way, but it's very hard. We can break all of the organisms into ten charts. Each chart would represent one of the original organisms from the 2nd generation, and all of said organisms descendants. This would hopefully serve as a decent remedy (for awhile at least. Eventually, further divisions will need to be made as the population of Sagan 4 grows). This would be alot of work for just one person, so it would be best to split the task amongst a few dedicated individuals. This is of course just a suggestion.
