I have a question. I was filling in a food web for rhodix vents, when i came across the dark swarmer. It lists as its diet Plankton and organic matter. Could someone clear this up for me?

This is probably a mistake overlooked for lack of rules at the time.
we can look and see what kinds of organisms it could have filter fed upon at that time, and list it instead of what's there...

Edit: did some searching
the only micros that were there when it evolved were the Placoball, and they are still extant, so in its diet, it should be written:

Detritivore (organic matter), Filter Feeder (Placoball), Photosynthesis

Did it really say photosynthesis? Cause there is no light down there. It must have lived in other biomes too thus would have a diffrent diet in them.

EDIT: Yea it lived just about everywhere since back then the oceans were only separate into Open Ocean and Sea Floor. Open Ocean became Sunlight Zone and Twilight Zone while Sea Floor became Abyss Zone and Sea Floor.

Habitat:  LadyM Deep Sea Floor, Jujubee Deep Sea Floor, Rhodix Vents, LadyM Open Ocean, Jujubee Open Ocean

So really back then it could have eaten all the microbes arund then in all ocean biomes.

it's photosynthesising its own light or something...

No no read above. It lived in biomes that had light. That's why it was listed.

However:

Quote
The dark swarmer has adapted to the deep sea. It doesn't feed via photosynthesis anymore...

...Their photosynthesis has adapted to the light the tentacles emit, so that the dark swarmer can reuse some of the energy.

It said that: "It has adapted its photosynthesis to the light it now produces"

Yep. That's what happens when its an early species is is alot of biomes to begin with and then those biomes split off into new biomes.
