When submitting a creature, for scientific names, I usualy check on this translator.
It's free, but somewhat limited.
I thought others with a limited knowledge in latin (like myself) would find it usefull.

I use Latin as well as other languages. In addition i make fake scientific words by using "us" on the end. Such as "dogus" or "catus".

In the naming of real animals, the second name in a scientific name can actually be made up as long as it sounds latin-ish.

Mega-hello there, Kid Icarus! Are you having a Mega-Marvelous time??

...wow, there's a reference I thought I would never make in life, ever. o.o

There's a couple of sites I used when I started my Aurix game, which I'll occasionally still check if I can't think of a latin/greek word for something for binominal/trinominal names, but unfortunately for you all, my bookmarks are on another computer.
"We're sorry, but the Bookmarks are in another Computer!"
..okay, that reference was just kind of lame.

I remember that cartoon. Man what crazy stuff they had back then. Then again the 3D animated cartoon of ReBoot was just as weird.

Yeah. I actually did a (few) comic(s) back when I worked on my Megaman sprite comics where the Megaman from Captain N: The Game Master showed up. Regular "Alpha" Megaman hated him and destroyed him the first chance he got (within a couple of panels). He later was rebuilt by Doctor Wily and became Negaman, Megaman's evil "twin".

In the end I ended up really liking Negaman. I guess he was sorta like the Venom to my Spider-Man. And I only just said that because I'm reading up on the symbiotes in order to sprite them for my Ultimate Showdown project. Forte was probably more like my Venom (as he and Megaman teamed up on occasion, but always disliked each other). I'd show you, but why stray so far off topic?

I found a really handy english-latin translator here, to help with scientific names. It's got a massive list of words, and it's near-instantaneous, rather the one that many others used frequently. Wiktionary also has a large database of latin words, as well as guides on how to decline or conjugate them.
