The thing is, I think it would become red rather than green, because the iron will be very prominent in its skin, masking the underlying green blood. Red over green may not look very purplish but rather brownish, but with the added remaining small pigmentation of its ancestor, I think it's alright to make it a little purple.
I'll change the colors to a more brown coloration, and add splotches of green and purple undertones to account for both its (remaining) pigments and blood.

Before I leave for the week, here is the cadovermi split I was working on. Still not finished as it still needs eyes and the like.

Which is better? The second one, definitely. Blue ftw!

Well I think they are both equally good. However since there is no red blood eater from that linage anymore I would go with the red one.

You could go with both, and have the diet be sexual based, with females drinking a certain blood type in order to produce eggs.

They're asexual, but that sounds like an idea.

Don't forget to draw the limbs for the right side of the body.

I have a picture of a species ready but should I write it as Gen 144 or Gen 145?

145, however there is no guarantee that the ancestor will make it to week 23.
