I'll be going off to RIT soon, And apparently the people there are into this kind of left-right brain pass-times, so I'll see if anyone in my class will join.

I just didn't want to presume, but just so you know, if you live on campus or in the city, we'll be neighbors more or less, since I live in Rochester.

Well, I advertised on my new homebase of Total War Center Forums. The link is here. What do you think?

I got a brand new idea. I shall advertise on those hosting sites that were linked recently on that "End of Sagan 4" thread!

This is on Stumbleupon. Maybe we could use that.

I realize in this time of low activity we are lacking members, I only see familiar faces and not anybody fresh and new (which I guess isn't so bad because we all already know each other sort of)
However I think we should return to the advertising side of things. A side from finding new members I believe the moderating team has slightly dwindled in numbers and in order to even consider getting back on track we would need to do something about that to enhance the organisation of the project

Obviously the places that I see as being most logical to advertise or ask people about are:
deviantArt - due to a lot of us being on there
The Thrive Forums- Though this may not be a suitable location, tons of members there are creative.
Tumblr - Perhaps a Sagan 4 blog where we show off some of the wiki's species and WIP's

Obviously we don't exactly have a large team anymore with our numbers surged down to from what I can see maybe...10 people? (Not that it matters)

I haven't exactly put a lot of thought into any other ways to bring ourselves back up but we need to start somewhere

I think we would need to create banners, and new buttons to replace the ones that we used to use.

There is one person I know (on the internet not in real life) who might want to join if I told him about it. The problem is I have a feeling he would be one of those people who'd need a lot of help to get on the team (Not art wise his arts better than mine but in other aspects). Would you guys be willing to put up with another person like that?

Considering we've done that with everyone all the way from the beginning I don't see why not though we may need to know about those aspects. I think recerntly with new members we've been rather cold esppcially when it comes to teaching and giving direction. A big aspect of the Sagan 4 team is communication and getting across your points to refine species which currently we have sadly lacked.

Here is a small list of dA groups I've considered contacting. Some of them may be familiar to some of you

Alien Nations
SpeculativeEvolution
Xenobiology-Club
FutureZoology
World-Craft
CreatureCreatorsClub

They all have some very decent artists on them that may, if they decide to advertise us, take a look at our project. I've written a mock not that I will use to send to all of the groups if we decide to go forward with advertising

Great , I think I should probably also get Hydro's input before doing anything.

On a sub note to this, not to sound as if I'm outlining everything we should do, this is just a mild suggestion. We do need to somewhat cleanup the forums and also make the homepage more presentable and less cluttered with links. I feel like the homepage isn't updated enough and there should be more input about currently occurring events and that the links pages should be revised.

With the forums, nothing too drastic, a bit of a de-clutter with threads such as the 'How to Join the Team' thread which we may need to revise due to it being HUGE. But aside from those minor things, nothing too much

The reason I think we need to push slightly more on the aesthetic value is that people find neat, organised and up to date sites more appealing than those where things are out of place, though this is just an opinion, don't murder me Tongue

EDIT: Also if anyone is still active on dA then if you could PM me your dA pages that would be great so I can give examples of other dA users in the project

You can always recommend Sagan 4 to other people and groups. Just be respectful and abide by their rules of online etiquette. If you do give a link give a link to the main website and feel free to post images of your own or others which you think are "eye candy".
