Unfortunately, I cannot think of a disaster with the capability to wipe out all macro life. Cave life and abyssals will always be safe from such disasters. Well, whenever Sagan 4 ends, be it via star death, or otherwise, then there should be a fifth.

Perhaps we should make them more random.

More disasters would shake things up more.

More disasters makes it more of a challenge to make sturdier ecosystems. And shaking a goldfish in a bag might be fun.

In the 3 billion years of earth's existence, there were 3 major extinctions and 3 minor. The Cambrian, Permian and Cretaceous-Tertiary being major ones.

Might? It is fun. But that's beside the point. The point is that some biomes may not even have a stable ecosystem. Another disaster would kill Sagan 4.

Well, there have been probably thousands of volcanic eruptions and such. I'm not saying major disasters, I'm saying more minorish disasters to make it more like a real planet.

Some of the biomes on Sagan 4 don't even make sense. For instance, the Huggs Temperate Rainforest doesn't even have a huge amount of plantlife. Biomes should be atleast partially based on amount of life.

Seems to me it's more about how evolution might go on a different planet. If the point was the waste time until spore came out, then this entire thing would just end when spore came out.

Actually, it started, as Yannick and Building Blocks pointed out, with just wasting time until spore came out
Don't take my word for it, you can check the original thread.

however as time passed it evolved in to something else.
please remember that we've just had a major catastrophe that destroyed many of the project's most loved creatures. if you'll destroy even those who survived you might as well just shoot yourself in the leg.
I know you want to have the whole "Moving to Land" theme replayed, and you can, but don't ask to destroy everything else for the sake of your experiment. There are other ways.

That's not the original thread. These are ...

We did not always have our own forum or even a wiki. It was only later we used Spore Wiki. But later we got our own forum which sucked and then eventually thanks to LadyM and Ovi this forum and own Wiki.

How often does a disaster comes in Sagan?

There is no set pattern its whenever I suprise you guiys with one/ Befgore i gave warning but now its more realistic if i don't.

I did not say which disaster though until near the end where all you could make were "inside species" microbes. However i did have the meteor hit in Flisch region without any warning.
