Before I even get into the details of whats wrong I would like to first say that this species you choose soon will be replaced by a "genus group" please choose another species. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

.... Oh, okay. That's totally fine! I'll think of something else.
But just wondering, what did I get wrong, so I can make the next one better?

EDIT: I think I'll wait until the next generation to make my first creature.

Um... any advice, Hydro? You might as well get out your complaints now, if he's going to repost a while later.

Well if i was going to check this one the problems would be ...

Quote
Taiga toxistem

1. The T in toxistem should be uppercase.

2. You need to list a scientific name (genus and species)

Quote
Size: 6 cm wide

3. The W in wide needs to be uppercase.

Quote
The taiga toxistem replaced its ancestor the Pioneer toxiglobe in the snowy Darwin Taiga.

4. The P in pioneer should be lowercase.

Quote
Unlike its ancestor, the Toxistem is a little wider, has several small yellow bands, has a single main tap root, and has little "globelets" sprouting from the stem.

5. The T in toxistem should be lowercase.

In short all that was wrong is some minor text problems and the missing scientific name. The picture looks fine too. So great job. It would have been fine if this was not already going to be replaced by a genus group.

Those were not even difficult errors to fix. And you can thank Soma for pointing out the correct usage of lowercases for names of species in the description. Here are 2 examples...

Incorrect: The Lion lives in Africa.

Correct: The lion lives in Africa.

Here you can see the name of the species is lowercase while the name of its habitat can stay uppercase since its a name of a place.

Not to criticize or anything, but Hydro, you make mistakes. Tongue Example:

While i like the idea. While back it was established that all chloroplast colors were locked where they were since changing it is too unrealsitic.

If you want to make orange colored flora then evolve the orange crystal flora.

Two mistakes. This is unacceptable!  Grin

I think I'm gonna get going tonight on getting back on the team. Either a Blind Hoofplent descendant or a bigger Obsidian Bush...

Post Merge: June 04, 2011, 05:45:41 PM
And here...we......go!

Obsidian Tree (Negrosolis Arecaceus)

Creator: Maineiac
Ancestor: Obsidian Shrub
Habitat: Barlowe-Dixon Temperate Rainforest
Size: 1 m Tall
Diet: Photosynthesis
Reproduction: Sexual, Airborne Cylindrical Spores

The obsidian tree split from it's ancestor, the obsidian shrub. Due to the increasing competition of other flora, such as clusterblades and rainforest carnoferns, in the evolutionary arms-race to capture the most sunlight, the obsidian tree evolved, and grew to be as twice as tall as it's ancestor. To support it's new height, it now has bigger roots that go deeper into the rainforests white soil to extract nutrients from the ground. Also, instead of having one spore chamber, it has three, allowing more and more spores to be produced into the atmosphere, creating an orange haze like it's ancestor. The obsidian tree also grows relatively close to each other, and can grow very quickly, creating endless thick forests across the vast, wet, rainforest. Otherwise, it is the same as it's ancestor.

I think you spazed out or something.

@Maineiac

Welcome (Back) to the Team! Please re-post your species in the organism submission section. Once there I will merge it in the generation thread. Feel free to post as often as you want. (Don't spaz out this time. Tongue )

Yes, my lord. Thank you.

By the way, could you possibly change my name to Belisarius? If so, keep the name of my Island perhaps?

Second, I was wondering if you could make some new species next gen to populate Dixon or so? Like a boreal Obsidian tree?

Third, how, perhaps, could we advertise effectively to make more people join our project?

I will now proceed to submit my species.
